We don’t always need to buy new things.

Many of you have kindly offered your retired garden equipment. I would gladly accept the following:

  • Wheel barrow

  • Garden cart

  • Hoses and attachments

  • Chicken wire (100 ft total)

  • T-posts

  • Cattle panels

  • Saw horses

  • Folding tables

  • Hoes of all kinds

  • Incandescent xmas lights

  • Fans

  • Heating pads

  • Digging forks

If you think of something that needs a good home, feel free to reach out anytime. There are many community gardeners in and around Dubuque that could utilize your retired equipment.

Reusing things is so “on-brand” for you.

Maybe we could work together if you have skills in these areas:

  • Making people laugh on social media

  • Making me laugh

  • Delivering boxes of veggies to childcare centers

  • Spreadsheeting or book keeping

  • Forecasting weather

  • Picking beans

  • Reading my mind

  • Talking to birds

I often accept generous volunteers for various tasks. My most skilled and generous helper has been my mom, Diane. She is the handiest person you’ll ever meet. Unstoppable too. The list above is something that I am just putting out there to help me find and build mutual support.
